Music Scholarships

Music Scholarships

Here at GO! we wanted to be able to offer people opportunities in Music, to help develop their skills, support training that may otherwise be out of reach and for brighter futures in music.

We have been lucky enough to offer 34 scholarship music places since starting the charity, this is set to increase over the coming years where we can help others have opportunities in music.

Music Training Workshops

Because of the popularity of requests for music training GO! decided to launch music scholarships officially in 2016, and we are delighted to have been able to offer music training opportunities in groups, workshops and courses such as funded places with its Choir project, through workshops and through groups that is runs as a one-off.

On these courses and workshops, we have been exploring the finer details of singing, and helping us to understand our voice and how we use it.

At GO! we love to share music with people, to help people build their confidence and to find their voice. If you'd like to benefit from one of our music workshops then please do get in touch at contact@greatopportunities.org.uk

Future Music Scholarships

GO! are always looking to expand workshops and training and to team up with new groups, musicians and professionals across the UK. The work is ever growing helping to provide young people and older people with opportunities in Music training and development.

We particularly like to support people who may find it difficult to access music and training and who would like to.

If you would like to find out more about music scholarships or find out what might be coming up in your area, get in touch with our team at contact@greatopportunities.org.uk

Alex's Story

Alex was a work experience student who came and worked with the Charity for a week gaining skills shadowing our senior team in Plymouth. It soon became apparent that Alex had some outstanding talents, working with Plymkids theatre group and taking part in productions, GO! interviewed Alex to see if the charity could support his aspirations. GO! were happy to fund vocal coaching sessions with a vocal professional in Devon and Alex worked really hard. Alex has since landed leading roles in Devon, one as Beast as ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and now being cast in many other productions in Devon.

Alex said “I’d just like to thank everyone for all their support and help, I’m well and truly blessed!”.
