Great start of term in Basingstoke

A lovely first session back in our Basingstoke GO! Club, this club is aimed at young people with additional needs and their siblings. A fantastic opportunity for parents to leave their children with our friendly staff in a safe environment.

We had a very busy session and all the children had great fun! We had groups of children throughout the hall playing different games and doing different activities.
Some of the children enjoyed playing sports – badminton and dodge ball were favourites this week. At GO! we try and cater for every child with a wide range of activities, and this was a great start to this term with everyone enjoying themselves.

We had a group of children playing parachute games, they decided the games that they wished to play and organised the volunteers and other children. It showed that the social skills of many of them are improving and they were able to reduce potential conflict.

Another group of children made dens out of parachutes and gym mats. At one point they managed to create an enormous “castle”. They really enjoyed themselves and played nicely together.
Some children preferred to have some quiet play and made a variety of creations on the craft table. One of the children spent a long time making a fantastic tiger mask.

We are all looking forward to the remainder of the term.
