Basingstoke GO Clubs start their new term – check out our first day back
We are back in Basingstoke, what a great start to the new term! Basingstoke GO! Clubs run two sessions which provide opportunities for young people from 3-7 and 8-18 years with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities to have fun, make friends and build their confidence in a safe and friendly environment.
This was our first club back after the Summer, so everyone was eager to catch up with one another which was excellent. Many children returned to the session after the holidays plus we welcomed a new teenager and new young child who had a great time at their first session.
We were pleased to welcome back James one of our GO! Basingstoke volunteers who did a fantastic job playing games with the older children including football, dodgeball and bench ball. They also enjoyed organising races and had great fun beating James!
A couple of the younger children enjoyed a quieter session and sat with staff members reading books. They enjoyed picking the ones they wanted to read with help or those that they wanted read to them.
Some of the children enjoying making masks on the craft table – we had a variety of superhero masks by the end of the session. We even managed to fit in some parachute games!
GO! clubs try to cater for everyone’s needs and abilities, some children prefer to run around whilst others like to concentrate on craft or reading. We love seeing children being confident, happy and are pleased to be running this club for another term.
