Following the lead from the children we didn’t do any sport this week but instead we played board games, did some art and craft and made some origami.
Some of the children who attend GO clubs really struggle with the idea of Christmas as it is a complete break from their routine and can be a sensory overload for them. This can lead to upset which is not what anyone would wish for them. The staff chatted to the children who wanted to talk about Christmas about their plans for the holiday and got in the Christmas spirit by listening to some Christmas songs. For those who were struggling with the idea of Christmas we talked about other things and kept their activities as normal as possible.
All the children had a great time and we are looking forward to seeing them all in the New Year.
